In connection with the annual general meeting of Padborg Udviklingscenter on 7 March 2006 the  "Business prize of the year" was awarded for the 5th time.

The prize 2005 goes to the FDE group, which is the commercial company of the trade organization ITD (International Transport Danmark) and located in the FDE Center Padborg with about 100 staff members.

In his presentation the chairman of Padborg Udviklingscenter, executive bank manager Bjarne Axelsen mentioned the criteria necessary in order to receive the business prize. They include impressive economic results, increase in the number of staff members, and the company/person must be visible in the day-to-day business image inside and outside the area. Bjarne Axelsen emphasized that FDE completely lives up to these demands and that FDE was therefore an obvious choice as the prizewinner of the year.

On behalf of FDE Jens I. Petersen, Managing Director, received the prize containing a diploma, the Piet Hein sundial as well as a gift voucher for DKK 2,500 for the staff club. Jens I. Petersen was delighted at the recognition and emphasized that the credit to a large degree must be ascribed to all ITD and FDE staff members.

Equally, he regarded the prize as a pat on the back for all in the transport trade who in their day-to-day work make a huge effort in order that the modern welfare society can function.

Facts about ITD/FDE:
ITD is the trade association for Danish transport companies performing international transports and has just under 400 members. ITD is the parent company of FDE. ITD's aim is to take care of and to promote the economic, trade-related and professional interests of its members, to represent its members in relevant correlations, to be the meeting forums for the members and otherwise to act in order to ensure the best possible conditions for the members' trade performances.

FDE is an international company servicing companies both at home and abroad, primarily the transport trade. FDE's client base amounts to about 11,500 customers, including 8,500 foreign customers in 40 countries. Among the activities can be mentioned: VAT refund in all of Europe, motorway, tunnel and ferry service, accounting service, insurance service, purchase service for the transport trade and providing discounts on both mobile and fixed telephony,

ITD/FDE is placed in FDE Center Padborg, which was inaugurated in 2004 with modern and attractive office surroundings including a meeting, staff training and conference centre. FDE Center Padborg is a knowledge centre for transport and logistics and the framework for an exciting environment with 130 employees. ITD/FDE employs 110 staff members in total.
