As of 1 July 2009 it is possible to apply for a refund of the excise duty on diesel oil from Slovenia. Companies from the EU, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are eligible for refund of excise duty on diesel oil.

The refund is € 0.13 per litre diesel oil refuelled in Slovenia as of 1 July 2009 and applies to lorries with a gross weight over 7.5 tons and busses in the categories M2/M3 (vehicles with at least 9 seats incl. the driver's seat).
